SUPERINTENDENT EVALUATION WORKSHOP

Effective school boards recognize that hiring the right superintendent to lead and manage the district they serve is one of their most important duties. Delegating authority and holding the superintendent accountable are vital. Effective school boards also know they have a duty to themselves and their communities to determine whether the authority delegated to the superintendent is being used as intended. As a result, evaluating the superintendent’s performance should be a major focus of the school board and, by extension, the superintendent.

During the MSBA Superintendent Evaluation Workshop, MSBA staff will:

  1. Review the principles of effective evaluation.
  2. Provide context for redefining superintendent evaluation.
  3. Help team members become familiar with the MSBA/MASA's "A Goals- and Standards-Based Superintendent Evaluation: A Resource for School Board Members and Superintendents."

School board-superintendent teams are encouraged to attend this workshop together.

MSBA Event Cancellation Policy

Cancellation by Meeting Participants for Superintendent Evaluation Workshop

(1) If a pre-registered participant cancels any time prior to the date registration closes, MSBA will fully refund the registration fee.

(2) If a pre-registered participant cancels between the date registration closes until the time the MSBA-sponsored event/activity begins, he/she will be charged an administration fee of $50.

(3) Once an event/activity begins, all registrants are responsible for the full registration fee.
