      Implementation of the new ESEA "No Child Left Behind Act" legislation will have a significant impact on Minnesota's public schools. Check out these publications and links relating to this important new legislation.

Tool Kit for Communicating NCLB Issues

  • NCLB Tool kit - This toolkit is for board members, communication directors and superintendents to deal with AYP issues. It contains talking tips for the community, tips for talking to the media and sample parent letters and news releases. You will need Microsoft Word to open this file.
  • No Child Left Behind - 2005 - An MSBA PowerPoint presentation that talks about the strengths and weaknesses of the federal law.
  • 2004 AYP Analysis - An MSBA PowerPoint that shows trends for schools on the AYP list in 2003 and 2004.
  • No Questions Left Behind - A booklet produced by the Minnesota Department of Education to answer questions about the federal law and how it is applied in Minnesota.
  • Sanctions Chart- A chart that shows federal school sanctions for each year that a school is on the AYP list.
